[AISWorld] OCIS Junior Faculty Consortium at AoM in Boston, Aug 3, 2012

 Please join us for the Organizational Communication and Information
Systems (OCIS) Junior Faculty Consortium, held in conjunction with the 2012
Academy of Management Conference in Boston.   Where:  Academy of Management
Conference, Boston MA When:   Friday, August 3, 8:30 am – 4:00 p.m.
(optional evening dinner) Who:    All untenured faculty members in
OCIS-related fields             (Communications, Information Systems,
i-School) How:    Contact Elizabeth Davidson, OCIS Division Chair Elect,  at
ocisdavidson at gmail.com   The Junior Faculty Consortium is a daylong
professional-development workshop open to junior faculty member in
OCIS-related areas.  Attendees have the opportunity to talk in small group
settings about research and teaching challenges and managing an academic
career with senior faculty mentors. The mentors (below) have extensive
experience as faculty members, authors and journal editors and with
grant-funded research and service to the professional community.   Attendees
must register for the Academy of Management Conference. There is no
additional cost for the junior faculty consortium but you must pre-register
with me (Liz Davidson, OCIS Division-Chair elect) at ocisdavidson at gmail.com.

mentors:   Cynthia
Beath   Cynthia is Professor Emeritus at the McCombs School of Business,
University of Texas at Austin.  She serves as Research Commentary Section
Editor for *Journal of the Association of Information Systems* (JAIS) and
was recently elected as AIS VP Meetings & Conferences.  Cynthia is a former
OCIS Division and Program Chair and has held numerous conference chair and
editorial board roles through her career.



Mike Chiasson



Mike is Professor of Management Science at the Lancaster University
Management School, where he is also the program director for the MSc in IT,
Management and Organizational change.  He is serving as the Program
co-Chair for ECIS 2012, Theme Track Chair for ICIS 2012, and has served as
associate Editor for *MIS Quarterly* and for *Information Systems Journal*.



Paul Hart



Paul is Professor and Associate Dean at Florida Atlantic University College
of Business.  He has served as Department Chair of Information Technology
and Operations Management and as Associate Dean.  Paul is a former OCIS
Division Chair and Program Chair.



Lynne Markus



Lynne is Professor of Information and Process Management at Bentley
University. She has served as senior editor of *MIS Quarterly*'s Theory and
Review Department and as AIS vice president for Education and SIM vice
president for Academic Community Affairs, in addition to numerous other
conference program and editorial roles. She was named a fellow of the
Association for Information Systems in 2004.



Ann Majchrzak



Ann is Professor of Information and Operations Management at the University
of Southern California Marshall School of Business.  She serves as Senior
Editor for *MIS Quarterly* and *Organization Science* and has served as
guest editor for special issues of *MISQ* on Digital Challenges in
Innovation Research



Mike Morris
  Mike is the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Professor of
Commerce at the McIntire School of Commerce, University of Virginia.  He
has served as associate editor on multiple IS journals and is currently
Senior Editor for *MIS Quarterly*.



Liz Davidson (consortium organizer)



Liz is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Information Technology
Management at University of Hawaii.  She has served as associate editor for
*MIS Quarterly*, is a Guest Editor for an *MISQ* special issue on Service
Innovation in the Digital Economy, and is Senior Editor for *JAIS* and
*Information
and Organization*.
