Background
==========
Design Science creates and evaluates IT artifacts intended to solve
identified organisational problems and seize opportunities. Such
artifacts are represented in a structured form that may vary from
software, formal logic, and rigorous mathematics to informal natural
language descriptions. Design Science Research (DSR) has become an
accepted approach for research in the Information Systems discipline
with a dramatic growth in recent, related literature. In particular, DSR
holds promise as a paradigm that can establish the relevance of academic
information systems research for IS practice. The rich phenomena that
emerge from the interaction of people, organisations, and technology
needs to be qualitatively assessed to yield an understanding of the
phenomena adequate for theory development or problem solving.

We invite contributions that address DSR issues related to IT management
and information systems. In-line with the aim of this annual symposium
we especially encourage contributions that highlight and describe
research in collaboration between academia and practice. Contributions
from industry, academia and collaborative research are welcome. We also
encourage postgraduate researchers to submit their work.

Topics of Interest include but are not limited to:
-Design science approach
-Design science projects and results
-Principles of design science projects
-Evaluation of design science projects
-Limitations of following a design science approach
-Practitioners’ engagement and benefits
-Demand for design science projects

Symposium Venue
===============
The symposium will be held at the Intel Innovation Open Lab, Intel
Ireland, Leixlip, on 5th of October 2012. The Symposium will be held in
conjunction with the Intel European Research and Innovation Conference
Series - ERIC 2012.
