Field Methods

Interviewing, Focus Groups and Questionnaires

A one day seminar at 

Blackhorse Horse, University of Reading

There is a large gap between knowing what techniques are available to academic researchers and making them work productively in the field. This seminar has been designed to assist participants make the most from three of the more extensively used approaches to collecting data for doctoral research.  This practical seminar consists of briefing, discussions and simulation exercises. Participants will be helped to decide which field method or methods are most appropriate for their research and they will have the opportunity to start developing their own protocols.

A copy of the book Field Methods for Academic Research by Professor Dan Remenyi will be supplied to each participant.

 

The seminar will be held on 23rd October 2012 at Blackhorse House, University of Reading. It will begin at 0930 and finish 1600. The attendance fee is £100+Vat= £120 which includes handouts and refreshments and a free copy of Field Methods for academic Research: Interviewing, Focus Groups and Questionnaires by Dan Remenyi published by Academic Publishing International will be made available to all attendees. There will be a one hour lunch break and there are a number of food outlets adjacent to Black Horse House on the White Knights' Campus, University of Reading.
