[AISWorld] MIS tenured/tenure-track position with "Big Data" focus at SJSU

The Department of Management Information Systems at San José State
University, in the heart of Silicon Valley, invites applications for a
tenured/tenure-track faculty position with a focus on "Big Data"
technology. The position (pending budget approval) is part of a university
"cluster hire" initiative intended to develop interdisciplinary research
teams of faculty from different departments and colleges across campus to
establish SJSU's reputation in strategically targeted areas such as Big
Data, Cyber Security and Gaming.

San José State University is California’s oldest institution of public
higher learning. The campus is located on the southern end of the San
Francisco Bay in downtown San José (Pop. 945,942), hub of the world-famous
Silicon Valley high-technology research and development center. A member of
the 23-campus CSU system, San José State University enrolls a highly
diverse population of approximately 29,000 students, generating the
majority of the Silicon Valley workforce. SJSU's MIS alumni are to be found
throughout the range of local companies from startups to major players
including Google, Facebook, Apple, Cisco, eBay, HP, etc.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Management Information
Systems (or closely related) and show evidence of excellence both teaching
and research with a focus on "Big Data" and related technologies. Rank of
appointment (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) and salary will be
commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The final closing date for applications is February 1, 2013.
However, applications received by December 10th, 2012 will be
particularly welcomed. Faculty from the SJSU MIS Department will be present
and will conduct interviews at ICIS 2012 in Orlando.
