The College of Business at James Madison University invites applications for a one-year faculty appointment in Computer Information Systems. Master's degree in business, information systems, information technology or related field required. Master's degree from an AACSB or ABET accredited program preferred. This position is not intended for doctorally-qualified candidates. Teaching experience and/or professional work experience in information technology is preferred.  The successful candidate will become part of a dedicated team of faculty delivering a core course in the business administration undergraduate curriculum and highly successful computer information systems major.

Primary teaching emphasis will be the lower division introductory computer information systems concepts course that includes the design and creation of a hands-on database project, IS for competitive advantage, hardware & software, data communications, systems development, and information security. Applicants should have a solid foundation in the fundamental concepts of computer information systems.

The Computer Information Systems (CIS) curriculum is designed to prepare business students for careers as information systems professionals. CIS courses require extensive hands-on projects, teamwork, and the use of high-end computer technology. The bachelor's degree program in Computer Information Systems is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET.

In addition to teaching, the position will require general service to the institution and the ability to maintain professional qualifications. The position will be open until filled.
