The Department of MIS, College of Business and Management, University of Illinois Springfield invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning January 15th, 2014.



Qualifications:  An earned doctorate in MIS at the time of appointment from an AACSB accredited institution; those with ABD status will be considered at the application/interviewing stage. A strong commitment to an interactive, student-centered learning environment and to serving the needs of a diverse student body consisting of both traditional and non-traditional learners is required.  Commitment to excellent teaching is the primary mission, with scholarly research as the second, and service as the third priority.   Ability and willingness to prepare and deliver online, blended, on-campus, and off-campus courses in at least two of the following areas: Data Warehousing, Data Mining, Business Intelligence, and courses related to Health Care Informatics Curriculum, such as: Healthcare Information Systems, Human - Computer Interaction Design, and Electronic Medical Record, is required.  A record of high quality scholarship or evidence of the ability to produce intellectual contributions leading to publication in refereed journals is required.


The MS in MIS online degree program at UIS was ranked 16th out of 148 degree programs by U.S. News & World Report in January 2013.
