The Journal
The Journal of Mobile Multimedia (JMM) aims to provide a forum for the discussion and exchange of ideas and information by researchers, students, and professionals on the issues and challenges brought by the emerging multimedia technologies for mobile multimedia applications and services, and the control and management of such networks to support multimedia applications.
The journal is devoted to the publications of high quality papers on theoretical developments and practical applications in mobile multimedia. Original research papers, state-of-the-art reviews, and technical notes are invited for publications.

The Special Issue
The Special Issue “Μοbile Learning and Multimedia Applications In Academia” will offer readers insights on mobile and distance learning in academic environment, with special focus on higher education, as well as on multimedia applications in academia and their challenges.

Topics of interest, among others,
- Education and training in higher education
- Higher education and virtual environments
- Multimedia content-based retrieval and analysis in academia
- Prototype multimedia systems and platforms in academia
- Visual information systems in higher education
-Multimedia ontology in academia
-Multimedia security and content protection in academia
-Multimedia services in academia
-Perception and cognition for multimedia users in academia

Paper submission

Full papers are expected to be submitted by October 15, 2013. All submitted papers will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Submissions must be original and should not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication while being evaluated for this Issue.



The manuscripts should be prepared in standard IEEE 2-column format and submitted to the Guest Editor through email (e-mail address see below).



Authors, when submitting a paper, are encouraged to provide us with a list of several (preferably 3 to 5) names for potential referees.
