Two Tenure Track Positions are now open at the University of Toronto 
Mississauga Campus Institute of Communications, Culture and Information 
Technology.

*Assistant Professor: New Media – User Experience *
We seek a candidate who is a new media educator and researcher and whose 
work focuses on the users of information and communication technologies 
and on the experiences that arise from these interactions. Currently the 
Institute is responsible for offering courses in HCI and user-interface 
design for all types of digital platforms and applications. Candidates 
must have a PhD, preferably in Information Studies, Industrial Design, 
Human Computer Interaction, Applied Psychology, Communication, or 
related disciplines focusing on user-centered interaction. Candidates 
should also have a track record of publications in top journals and 
conferences, and should be interested in supporting student learning in 
the areas of usability, information architecture, user research, and 
design. The successful candidate will be expected to commit to shaping 
the future of the Institute in the field of digital and new media and to 
assist in developing the ICCIT as a centre of research and teaching 
excellence.

*Associate Professor – Communications and New Media*

We seek candidates with demonstrated research and teaching abilities in 
one or more areas of contemporary communication studies. Possible areas 
of focus include: (1) communication and cultural studies; (2) political 
economy of information/communication; (3) information/communication 
policy; (4) intercultural communications. The candidate will join a 
group of scholars shaping the future of the Institute in the field of 
digital and new media and provide leadership in helping develop the 
Institute as a centre of research and teaching excellence. We seek an 
outstanding scholar with an established publication record, experience 
with multidisciplinary research, and evidence of excellence in teaching. 
Completion of a PhD is required. The successful candidate will teach 
undergraduate and graduate courses in her/his area of specialization and 
must be experienced in educating and mentoring graduate students, junior 
researchers and/or professionals.
