Call for Minitrack Proposals

The AIS Special Interest Group on Organizational Systems Research (SIGOSRA) invites the submission of minitrack proposals to the End-user Information Systems, Innovation, and Organizational Change track http://amcis2014.aisnet.org/index.php/track-list/77-amcis-2014/92


Track Description

This track focuses on advancing research and application of information and communication technologies in the end-user environment to support work processes, improve employee performance, and enhance overall organizational effectiveness in direct support of goals and strategies.

We invite research papers on topics related to integrating information and communication technologies in the workplace including end-user innovation, business process management, project management, technology training and support, industry specific applications, collaborative and work group technologies, knowledge management as an end-user technology, and technology adoption, assimilation and use.  Papers related to curriculum issues, service learning, and other pedagogical topics-including teaching cases-are also invited.

The track is open to all types of research. Best papers from the mini-tracks will be considered for submission to the Information Technology, Learning, and Performance Journal (ITLPJ).

Contributions may deal with, but are not limited to, the following topics:


*         End-user adoption of Web 2.0 and virtual technologies (with a focus on social media and collaborative value creation in the work place)

*         End-users and business process management/transformation

*         End-user initiated customization of ICTs

*         End-user innovation

*         End-user training, support, and knowledge management in organizational systems

*         Understanding and managing end-user IS innovations in complex organizational networks and ecosystems

*         Integrating and engaging end-users beyond organization boundaries (with a focus on crowdsourcing and open innovation)

*         Integrating technology into the workplace (with a focus on managing "bring your own device," "bring your own software," integrating mobile devices, organizational routines, work processes, and improving process and employee performance)


Minitrack Chairs

Minitrack chairs will be responsible for a) promoting their minitrack to generate manuscript submissions to AMCIS 2014; b) soliciting and assigning reviewers for manuscripts submitted to the minitrack; and c) making recommendations to track chairs about each manuscript submitted to the minitrack. Each of these important dates and activities are identified on the AMCIS 2014 website.

Those interested in submitting a minitrack need to identify a related track for their topic. The AMCIS 2014 program is comprised of several tracks. For a full list of tracks and descriptions, visit: http://amcis2014.aisnet.org/index.php/track-list

To submit a minitrack proposal, you must submit a) minitrack chairs (names, emails, affiliation); b) minitrack title; c) short description of minitrack for the AMCIS 2014 website (up to 150 words); d) call for papers for your minitrack. To submit a minitrack proposal, visit:

Important Dates

November 4, 2013: Submit minitrack proposals via the online submission system.
January 4, 2014: Manuscript submissions for AMCIS 2014 begin
