Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite our colleagues from industry and academia to join us for the second Asia-Pacific Conference on Business Process Management (AP-BPM2014) which will be held in Brisbane, Australia on 3-4 July.

This conference intends to set up a bridge between industrial requirements and research outcomes to the growth of economic rising powers of the Asia-Pacific region. The first day of the conference is devoted to presentations of leading edge BPM research outcomes from the Asia-Pacific region, whereas the second day has a strong industry focus. The theme for Day 2 is "Big Process Data" and the focus is on how evidence-driven business process improvement can add value to your organisation.

We are delighted to announce two outstanding keynote speakers,

* Professor Hyerim Bae from Pusan National University (Korea) will talk about applications for business process models that are automatically discovered from event logs.

* Professor Michael Rosemann from Queensland University of Technology (Australia) will outline Future BPM Research Directions.

Day 2 features three speakers from the health and insurance domains discussing various applications of BPM.

* Professor Nicholas Graves (Queensland University of Technology) will discuss the economic challenges facing the health care sector and the role of data analysis to address these challenges.

* Ms. Donna Stewart (Suncorp) will present how evidence-driven process improvement approaches were used to improve insurance claim services in the private insurance sector.

* Mr. Neil Singleton (Queensland Motor Accident Insurance Commission) will describe opportunities for improvements of Compulsory Third Party (CTP) claim handling processes, which have been uncovered from continuous BPM initiatives.

There will also be demonstrations of open-source BPM tools co-developed by the BPM research discipline at Queensland University of Technology.
