Vacancy for a Research Fellow: Brunel University - College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences

As part of a large EU funded project on Social Innovation, Brunel University Business School is looking to recruit a Research Assistant / Fellow for a large European Commission funded project on Social Innovation.  Brunel Business School has a vibrant research community that is engaged in multi-disciplinary research activity through projects funded by the European Commission, EPSRC, ESRC as well as several other national and International funding bodies. The school is looking to recruit a Research Assistant / Fellow with a background in social sciences and in particular knowledge of social innovation and expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. Knowledge of qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) methods will be particularly beneficial. 

The successful candidate should possess a PhD and will be required to work with a team of multi-disciplinary researchers to develop a methodological framework to support a global study on Social Innovation (SI-DRIVE), which is funded under the EU FP7 programme. The SI-DRIVE project focuses on promoting social innovation as a driving force for social change. The project will investigate the empowerment of citizens and communities to engage in Social Innovation in seven policy areas across Europe aimed at working towards Europe 2020 targets on sustainable development.  The successful candidate will need to work with an international project team of 23 partners in developing a methodological framework for investigating social innovation across a number of themes / policy areas. The role will involve regular European and International travel. Working closely with the project team at Brunel Business School, the successful candidate is also expected to contribute to dissemination activities related to the project through conference and journal publications.
