56th Annual MPBA Global Business Conference*
October 8-10, 2014 ~ Idaho State University, Pocatello, Idaho
Business Use of Information and Informatics
Data Acquisition, Decision-Making and Education for Using Information in
Business, Government and Education

Providing a quality education for business students requires a continued
effort to remain acquainted with the various changes and improvements
being implemented by businesses of all sizes both domestically and
globally. Technology, competition from all parts of the world,
litigation, environmental concerns and regional trade agreements are all
requiring new strategies for businesses to succeed. This conference will
include research addressing successful approaches to teaching in this
complex environment. Other topics pertinent to our discipline are also
welcome.

*ABOUT THE CONFERENCE:* The Mountain Plains Business Association (MPBA)
Global Business Conference is an annual gathering of scholars and others
interested in sharing research and discussing relevant and contemporary
issues in all areas of business, including Management, Marketing,
Finance, Economics, Accounting, Computer Information Systems, and other
related areas. The conference has a long tradition, dating back many
decades. The gathering is informal, and presentations include everything
from manuscripts ready for journal submission to discussion-oriented
abstracts as well as forums and round-table discussions. A high degree
of collegiality exists, and many long-term friendships result from the
interactions of conference participants. The conference is hosted on a
university campus by a different institution each year.

*SETTING:* The 2014 Conference will be held on the campus of Idaho State
University, located in the high mountain desert of Pocatello, Idaho.
Pocatello is located in the SE corner of Idaho near Yellowstone Park – a
popular destination. Other local popular sites include
Salt Lake City Sun
Valley Jackson Hole

Flights are available into Pocatello, Salt Lake City and Idaho Falls.

*CALL FOR PAPERS AND PROPOSALS:* You are invited to submit a paper (or a
proposal for a panel discussion or workshop). We encourage empirical,
theoretical, conceptual, and pedagogical submissions. There will be
*Best Paper* awards presented during the conference in each academic
track, and each Best Paper will receive a special recognition. To be
considered for the peer-reviewed Proceedings of the Mountain Plains
Management Conference, papers must accepted and conform to the format
