The IPM department plays an important role in supporting the university
mission of blending business, technology and the liberal arts. The IPM
Department’s mission is to create new knowledge about the effective use and
management of information, businesses processes, and technology through the
multi-stakeholder socio-technical systems approach, and through focus on
value enhancement and hazard mitigation, and to educate creative, ethical,
and socially responsible organizational leaders who can apply that
knowledge in transformative and innovative ways. The IPM department offers
courses in the business core at both graduate and undergraduate levels, as
well as a variety of courses for undergraduate majors (Information Systems
Audit and Control and Business ICT), for the department’s minor (IPM), for
the MBA and MS programs, and for the PhD in Business. Courses include
business process management, strategic information technology, information
security, enterprise systems configuration, value chain, and business
intelligence. The department is a leading proponent of Bentley's
participation in the SAP University Alliance program. The department also
plays a prominent role in the University’s Business PhD program (including
teaching core courses and supervising students with interests in
information and process management).
