Dear Colleagues,

we invite you to submit papers for the minitrack

*"Software in Developing, Emerging, and Transition (DET) Economies"*

for the

*21st Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS 2015) / August
13-15, 2015 in Puerto Rico (http://amcis2015.aisnet.org).*

A description of the minitrack is provided below:

"Software plays an important role in supporting managerial decisions,
designing business processes, transforming economic exchange, and
enhancing organisational capabilities. It also enables the creation and
delivery of new products, services, and business concepts. The role of
software is therefore crucial for innovation in developing, emerging and
transition (DET) economies. This applies especially to frugal and/or
reverse innovation (e. g. M-PESA).

The distinct characteristics of DET economies give rise to various key
business and social issues involving information and technological
innovations. This minitrack invites submissions that address important
research questions relevant to the use of software in a DET context.
Papers that receive excellent reviews may be selected for fast track
reviewing in the Journal of Global Information Management (JGIM).

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Software development, use and maintenance in DET economies
- Software technologies in DET economies
- Software trends in DET economies
- Open source software in DET economies
- Enterprise software /systems in DET economies
- Economics of enterprise software in DET economies
- IT governance in DET economies
- IT strategy in DET economies
- Industry studies in DET economies
- Social networks and virtual communities in DET economies
- Crowdsourcing in DET economies

- IT productivity and performance at the country, industry or firm
level in DET economies
- Frugal and/or reverse innovation in DET economies
