Dear colleagues,

The GEOTec research group of the Institute of New Imaging Technologies (INIT) at the University Jaume I, Spain, the Institute for Geoinformatics (ifgi) at the University of Münster, Germany, and the NOVA Information Management School (University Nova de Lisboa), Portugal, invite applications for 15 PhD scholarships in the context of the doctoral program “Geo-C: Enabling Open Cities”.

GEO-C is funded by the European Commission within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.

For a period of three years, 15 researchers will work on the topic Smart Cities from different perspectives in order to present solutions for future cities, doing research and creating software, libraries, apps and frameworks that enable cities to easily set up or adapt key services, processes and analyses.

15 different PhD topics are available on varying topics, varying from participatory sensing, mobile services, data management & analysis, crowdsourcing & VGI, situational awareness, life quality, etc.

The full scholarships for the 15 doctoral researchers will be granted in terms of employment contracts according to the national regulations of the hosting institutions. The scholarships consist of a monthly living allowance, to which will be added a mobility allowance and family allowance, if applicable.
