The College of Business and Entrepreneurship at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) is seeking applications for a lecturer position in Information Systems. The position is a three-year renewable appointment, based on favorable annual evaluations. Responsibilities include delivering quality instruction in the program, advising students, and participating in scholarship activities serving the college, university or local community as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants should have a Master's Degree; a doctorate is preferred, in IS or a closely related field from an accredited university. Applicants must have at least 18 hours of IS and IT related graduate courses. Applicants must have the ability to teach a variety of computer and management information systems courses, including: programming, database management, networks, information technology, introduction to management information systems, and other IS-oriented topics. Interest in the areas of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Health Information Technology (HIT), Information Security, or Data Analytics is a plus. The selected candidate is also expected to provide service to the department, college, university and community. Applicants should have excellent communication skills, a collegial approach to faculty and student interactions, dedication to excellence in teaching, and a sincere appreciation of cultural diversity.

Additional Information UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
