[AISWorld] MIS Quarterly Appoints New Editor-in-Chief

Dr. Arun Rai has been appointed as the next Editor-in-Chief of MIS
Quarterly effective January 1, 2016. Arun is Regents’ Professor of the
University System of Georgia, J. Mack Robinson Chair of IT-Enabled
Supply Chains and Process Innovation, and Harkins Chair of Information
Systems in the Center for Process Innovation and Department of Computer
Information Systems at the Robinson College of Business, Georgia State
University. He has served on the faculty at Southern Illinois
University at Carbondale and held visiting appointments at universities
in Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, and Slovenia. Arun is a
co-founder of the Robinson College’s Center for Process Innovation
(CEPRIN), an interdisciplinary research center that promotes
industry–university partnerships on how digital innovation can address
business and societal problems. Arun received his Ph.D. in MIS from Kent
State University in 1990. He holds an MBA from Clarion University of
Pennsylvania (1987) and a Master of Science and Technology from the
Birla Institute of Technology and Science (1985).
Arun was appointed Regents’ Professor in 2006 by the Board of Regents of
the University System of Georgia for outstanding contributions in
research, teaching, and service. He was named a Fellow of the
Association for Information Systems in 2010 for outstanding
contributions to the Information Systems discipline in research,
teaching, and service, and he received the INFORMS Information Systems
Society Distinguished Fellow Award in 2014 for outstanding intellectual
contributions to the Information Systems discipline.
Arun has served as a senior editor for Information Systems Research, MIS
Quarterly, and Journal of Strategic Information Systems, and as an
associate editor for Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly,
Management Science, Journal of MIS, Journal of the Association for
Information Systems, IEEE Transaction on Engineering Management, and
Decision Sciences. In addition, he has been a panelist at the National
Science Foundation and served as track co-chair for major conferences,
as a counselor for several junior faculty and doctoral consortia, and as
president of the AIS Special Interest Group on the Adoption and
Diffusion of Information Technology.
Arun is replacing Paulo Goes, who has served as Editor-in-Chief since
January 1, 2013.
