Assistant Professor of Practice in Information Systems


Drake University's College of Business and Public Administration invites applications for a consecutive-term (non tenure-track) position as Assistant Professor of Practice in Information Systems.   Essential functions include teaching at the undergraduate level and maintaining currency through professional practice or scholarship.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach two or more of the following topics: business problem solving using MS Office applications, database management, computer programming, and network management.  Appointment becomes effective August 2016.

Applicants are expected to have a PhD or a Master's degree in information systems or a related field.  All candidates must provide evidence of effective teaching and either active practice or scholarly activity. Preference will be given to candidates with training and experience in data analytics and/or business intelligence.

The College of Business and Public Administration serves over 1100 undergraduate students and over 300 graduate students with 48 fulltime faculty members.  The college has strong ties with the local community and close to 90% of students have at least one internship experience during their program.  The newly formed Information Management and Business Analytics department, which oversees the undergraduate major and concentration in Information Systems, is at the forefront of the college's exciting initiatives in data analytics.
