Positions listed are either tenure-track or non-tenure-track (Instructor) on a nine month basis unless specified otherwise. Candidates must have earned doctorates or other degrees as specified. ABD candidates with planned completion dates before August 15th may also be considered. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and advising, as well as a record of scholarship and service. Instructors are hired on a nine month contractual basis subject to annual renewal. They will have responsibilities equivalent to five teaching units and must have at least a master's degree with 18 hours in the discipline and other qualifications as noted. All positions are subject to funding.

Non-tenure track, nine-month faculty position to teach on the Spartanburg and/or Greenville campus.

Non-tenure track, nine-month instructor position to teach in-class and online undergraduate courses in information management systems, information technology, and informatics. Online courses may be offered via Palmetto College. Duties include advising undergraduate students, serving on university committees, and actively supporting unit initiatives. The Department of Informatics is a vibrant, multi-disciplinary unit within the College of Arts & Sciences. We seek a colleague who will be an exemplary teacher, advisor, and active participant in the unit, on campus, and with community partners.

Required: Master's degree in information management systems, information technology, informatics, or closely-related field with at least 18 hours in information systems; and recent record of satisfactory teaching in the field. Successful background check is required.

Preferred: Ph.D. in information management systems or information technology; a proven record of excellence in teaching; established corporate relationships; and experience in corporate information technology management. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching online with innovative, engaging pedagogies; and experience teaching or working with relational databases, microcomputer architecture, human-computer interaction and/or social informatics.
