There is a vacancy for a TENURED ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR position at the
Department of Information Science and Media Studies at the University of
Bergen within HUMAN-COMPUTER INTERACTION. Based on personal

PROFESSORSHIP.

"The University of Bergen (UiB) is an internationally recognised
research university with more than 14,000 students and close to 3,500
employees at six faculties. The university is located in the heart of
Bergen in Norway. Our main contribution to society is excellent basic
research and education across a wide range of disciplines.

The Department of information science and media studies was established
in 2004 by merging the former Department of information science and
Department of media studies. The staff counts about 70 people, including
30 permanent faculty members and approximately 20 PhD and postdoc
positions. The department offers separate bachelor- and master-programs
in both information science and media. There are also bachelor programs
in Film and TV-production, Journalism and New Media. Furthermore, the
department co-hosts interdisciplinary programs for ICT, Cognitive
Science and Rhetoric. The department is partner in Media City Bergen.
This media-cluster opens in 2017 and will facilitate research and
education in the practices of media and media-technology. For instance,
there will be a new program in interaction design for digital media.

The research profile of the department is characterized by a strong
focus on the traditions of both disciplines as well as its
interdisciplinary nature. Within information science there are
research-groups on interaction research, semantic and social information
systems and logic, information and interaction."
