MIHAYLO COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS

California State University, Fullerton is a large, comprehensive, urban university with approximately 2,151 full- and part-time faculty and a diverse student body of approximately over 38,948 enrolled in Fall 2015. The Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences at California State University, Fullerton, invites candidates to apply for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin Fall 2017.

Position
We are seeking faculty candidates who have a strong, ongoing commitment and demonstrated potential to conduct high-quality research and have strong instructional skills. They should be able to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in Information Systems and Business Analytics.  Enrollment in business analytics programs offered in the department is growing, and the courses that have become high in demand include Business Intelligence, Data Mining, and Data Warehousing.  Cal State Fullerton values diversity and expects its faculty to be collaborative, collegial, and willing to contribute to the missions of the Department, College and University.

The Department’s faculty members conduct high-quality research and publish in leading Information Systems outlets including the senior scholars’ basket of 8 IS journals and journals on the Financial Times 45 list. They also regularly advise students, serve on academic committees and contribute to Department, College and University governance.

Qualifications

A PhD in Information Systems or a closely related business field by August 15, 2017.
Demonstrated potential to be an effective teacher of graduate and undergraduate courses in Information Systems and Business Analytics based on the department’s needs.
Evidence of potential to publish in top IS and/or decision science journals and to acquire external funding.
Ability to balance excellent teaching with outstanding scholarship and professional service.
Ability to collaborate with the existing group of faculty and interact effectively with a culturally diverse population of students and colleagues; and
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.  Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.
Rank and Salary
The position is at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, tenure-track; salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Research grants and additional teaching in summer are typically available. The College
Mihaylo College of Business & Economics is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. There are over 150 full- time faculty members and 8,500 students, including more than 600 graduate students. The Department
The Department consists of a diverse group of faculty with specialties in areas of Management Information Systems, Business Statistics and Management Science. We offer three concentrations: Information Systems, Business Analytics and Decision Sciences. We teach in the undergraduate business and MBA programs as well as in two specialized Master of Science degree programs. The Department currently offers a core course in each of these three areas, each of which is required by all business majors. The Department has received national and international recognition through faculty publications, presentations, and editorial activities. The AIS recently ranked our college 57th  in the USA and 4th in California in IS research productivity in top journals. Our online MS in Information Technology program is ranked 11th in the USA and 2nd  in California by U.S. News & World Report.
