AIS SIG culture call for paper, pre-AMCIS workshop:

“Culture in IS: Conducting innovative publications”

This workshop calls for extended abstracts, development papers or full
papers. It intends to help researchers and doctoral students to conduct
research and publications related to culture in IS. "Culture in IS" refers
to at least 3 meanings: national cultures, cultural industries and
"Internet culture". While the first may appear as a tradition in IS, the 2
other meanings are definitely innovative for our field:

• "National cultures" refer to effect that national cultures and ethnic
cultures as well as corporate cultures have on the Internet and online
behavior such as use of social media or buying behavior on e-commerce sites.

• "cultural industries" refer to the use of information technologies (IT)
in "cultural industries," defined as any kind of creative industry that
embodies one or more cultures, including but not limited to fine arts,
performing arts, museums, cultural heritage, movies, music, humanities,
entertainment, architecture, or tourism.

• "Internet culture," is both represented and embodied by the Internet
millennial generation and the awareness of how to leverage the Internet and
mobile resources.

In addition, methodological questions on how to measure cultural dimensions
of IS will be debated during the workshop.

At the end of the workshop, a business meeting of the SIG will be held
during 30 minutes.
