starting Fall 2019 *

The Department of Informatics and Computer Science (ICS) at Idaho State 
University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant/associate 
professor positions in the Informatics (Information Systems) area to 
begin in Fall, 2019. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Information Systems 
or a closely related field by the time of appointment. Exceptional ABDs 
with teaching experience may be considered.

While applicants with all areas of IS expertise are welcomed, preference 
will be given to candidates with a solid technical background who can 
teach technical courses. Applicants must have the ability to teach 
traditional courses such as Introduction to Informatics and Analytics, 
Systems Analysis and Design, Database Design, and Networking, along with 
more technical courses like Object-Oriented/Multi-Paradigm Programming, 
Web Application Development, and Mobile Application Development. 
Preference will be given to candidates with teaching and research 
experience in Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, and 
Artificial Intelligence. Applicants must be able to demonstrate teaching 
excellence at the collegiate level along with a strong commitment to 
high-quality research. The successful candidate should have the ability 
to teach at both the MBA and undergraduate levels. The candidate will be 
expected to perform university, public, and professional service as part 
of the workload.

Candidates at the associate level must have a minimum of four years of 
full-time college or university teaching and research at the rank of 
Assistant Professor (or equivalent).

Idaho State University is in Pocatello, Idaho, and was established in 
1901. The College of Business was founded in 1962 and was the first 
business school in the state to receive accreditation by the AACSB. As 
one of only 175 schools holding both accounting and business 
accreditation, the AACSB lists it in the top 2 percent of business 
schools in the world.

Our Department offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business 
Informatics, Health Informatics, and Computer Science, giving faculty 
numerous opportunities for interdisciplinary research as well as 
professional growth and interaction. The DOE’s nearby Idaho National 
Laboratory provides additional research opportunities.
