Design Science Theory and Practice for a Digitally Connected and Globalized
World

The increasing need for smart and connected solutions that address business
and society challenges and opportunities through information systems
requires advances in both theory and practice of design science research
(DSR). The goal of the design science research paradigm is to extend the
boundaries of human and organizational capabilities by designing new and
innovative artifacts (constructs, models, methods, processes, and systems).
Scholars having different backgrounds such as information systems, computer
science, operations research, cognitive science and informatics are
actively engaged in generating novel solutions to interesting design
problems.

DESRIST serves as a major forum for the presentation of innovative ideas,
approaches, developments and research projects in the area of DSR theory
and applications. It aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas between
researchers and industry professionals. Latest issues and advancement in
computing and its applications will be covered during the conference. The
14th DESRIST will be held in Worcester, Massachusetts in the Greater Boston
area and is expected to attract researchers and practitioners from around
the world.

We encourage submissions related but not limited to the following areas:

The conference proceedings will be published as a Springer Lecture Notes in
Computer Science series. Authors are solicited to contribute to the
Conference by submitting articles that illustrate research results,
projects, innovation works and industrial experiences that describe
significant advances in design science research pertaining to Information
Systems.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions should be formatted following the Springer LNCS guidelines,
using the Microsoft Word template. The submission via EasyChair should be
in the PDF format (file extension .pdf).

Full research paper submissions should not exceed 15 pages and must be
anonymized for double-blind review. Submissions should be formatted
following the Springer LNCS guidelines. The submission via EasyChair should
be in the PDF (file extension .pdf) format. The authors of all accepted
papers are expected to prepare a podium presentation.

Prototype and products submissions should not exceed 2 pages. These
submissions showcase implementations of innovative artifacts (i.e.,
constructs, models, methods, systems). The track provides an opportunity to
demonstrate and discuss emerging artifacts with researchers and
practitioners. The authors of all accepted submissions are expected to
prepare a 2-minute lighting presentation with a 1-slide PowerPoint and a
poster to be displayed during prototype demo sessions.

Late breaking work submissions showcase work in progress and provides
authors an opportunity to discuss their work with others and get feedback
in early stages. Submissions should be in the form of an extended abstract
and should not exceed 2 pages including all sections. The authors of all
accepted submissions are expected to prepare a 2-minute lighting
presentation with a 1-slide PowerPoint and a poster to be displayed during
prototype demo sessions.

These page limits include all pages (including figure, tables and
references). Only full paper submissions will be published in Springer
LNCS. For all the accepted submission, at least one author has to register
for the conference before April 1st, 2019 and must attend the conference to
present their work.
