Assistant or Associate Professor
Department of Management Information Systems

The Department of Management Information Systems in the Terry College
of Business at The University of Georgia invites applications for a
full-time tenure-track or tenured faculty position at the assistant or
associate professor level to conduct research and teaching in data
analytics.  Position will begin fall semester 2019, with an
anticipated employment start date of August 1, 2019.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in information systems or a closely
related discipline from an AACSB accredited institution or
international equivalent.  For information regarding the requirements

research record commensurate with rank and demonstrated excellence in
teaching information systems at the graduate and/or undergraduate
level also are required.  Additional information about Promotion &

eligible for tenure on appointment, candidates must be appointed as an
associate professor, have been tenured at a prior institution, and
bring a demonstrably national reputation to the institution.
Candidates must be approved for tenure upon appointment before hire.

The Management Information Systems Department offers the following
degrees: Ph.D., Master of Business & Technology, and BBA in MIS. In
addition, the Terry College of Business offers an on-campus MBA
degree, an on-campus Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA),
and off-campus Executive/Professional MBA degrees.

The Management Information Systems Department is consistently ranked
very highly nationally and internationally for both its programs and
its scholarly productivity. For example, USA Today College ranked the
undergraduate MIS program 8th in the nation in 2016. On the research
front, the UT Dallas ranking of research productivity ranks the
University of Georgia 11th in North America for overall research in
MIS Quarterly and Information Systems Research in the past five years.
Faculty hold editorial positions at the premier information systems
journals, and current and emeritus faculty include multiple AIS
Fellows and an AIS Leo Award winner.

The University of Georgia is the State of Georgia’s flagship
university, located in historic Athens, fifty miles from Atlanta.
