Job Opening: Full Professor in Information Systems at University of
Innsbruck (Application deadline: March 15, 2019)

 

The University of Innsbruck invites applications for the position of
University Professor of Business Administration with a focus on Information
Systems at the Faculty of Business and Management, Department of Information
Systems, Production and Logistics Management.

The position will first be based on a five years’ limited employment
contract with the University according to § 98 University Law 2002 (UG).

After a positive evaluation in accordance with § 14 section 7 UG, the
university intends to make the contract unlimited provided that the
financial situation allows.

 

Responsibilities include

The professor shall represent the subject of Business Administration with a
focus on Information Systems in research and teaching. The successful
candidate is expected to pursue internationally recognized scientific
research on the subject of Information Systems in one or more of the
following fields: Analysis and design of Information Systems, platforms, and
social networks; as well as the digitalization of firms, organizations, and
markets. Methodologically, we prefer candidates conducting analytical,
experimental and/or quantitative empirical research from a behavioral,
economical, and socio-technical perspective.

 

The professor is expected to successfully apply for research grants funded
by national and European research funding agencies. She/he is expected to
publish in premier international journals (e.g., AIS Senior Scholar Basket),
and is expected to further strengthen the transfer of research outputs into
professional practice via the BAFIT-network (Banking, Accounting, Auditing,
Finance and IT), a network which is co-coordinated by the Department of
Information Systems, Production and Logistics Management.

 

Ideally, the candidate’s research area complements the current research
agenda of the Department. The candidate is expected to contribute to the
future development of the research center “Information Systems for Connected
Work and Life“, and the research platform “Organizations & Society”, further
strengthening the profile of the Department and the Faculty of Business and
Management.

 

The professor shall teach courses on Information Systems in our
undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programs. Teaching will be in German and
English. She/he is also expected to supervise bachelor, master and PhD
theses, and is expected to actively participate in the strategic development
of the School of Management and in academic self-government.

 

Eligibility requirements include

a) a pertinent degree in higher education in Austria or the equivalent;

b) a pertinent PhD/doctoral degree in Business, Information Systems,
Management or equivalent

c) a pertinent 'Habilitation' or comparable qualification;

d) publications in high quality international peer-reviewed research
journals as well as in the context of highly reputed international research
conferences;

e) documented participation in international scholarly discourses;

f) experience in raising third-party funding;

g) excellent teaching skills (in German and English);

h) international experience in teaching and/or research;

i) ability to lead teams in research and teaching.

The basic salary is set down in the collective bargaining agreement for
university employees. Professors are in the remuneration group A 1. For the
position the monthly salary is 5.005,10 Euro (14 x). Depending on
qualification and experience a higher salary can be a topic in the
