Introduction

Over the years, in line with the tremendous development of technology in
different parts of the world, information and communication technologies
(ICTs) have gained significant importance and become central to the
operations and processes of both organizations and individuals. Nowadays,
organizations are creating internet-based systems to obtain maximum
performance from their personnel, improve marketing, reduce costs, increase
turnover, and performance. In addition, there are different online
activities for individuals, who want to participate in internet-based
systems. Moreover, the digital divide, knowledge divide, access and
accessibility barriers, social relationships, work dynamics, culture,
political participation, social empowerment, spatial boundaries, and
social-economic factors seem to affect ICT adoption. Consequently, ICTs
have increasingly attracted the attention of researchers who are interested
in understanding human behaviors and organizations. Researchers are trying
to understand organizational, demographic, cultural, socioeconomic factors
that influence ICT adoption and how ICT adoption might have an impact on
the individual, firm, and country level.

Objective

This aim of this book is to cover the wide facets of ICT adoption that
range from infrastructure to socio-economic impact. The book will include
both theory and practice that provide guidance to policymakers,
decision-makers and practicing managers in business, industry, government,
and academia from various ICT adoption perspectives. This book project will
draw on a wide range of disciplines, including information systems,
computer science, decision sciences, operations management, marketing,
cognitive psychology, social psychology, strategic management, education,
and communication.

Target Audience

The target audience includes researchers, practitioners, undergraduate and
postgraduate students. Therefore, the proposed articles need to address
both academic and practical implications.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before August 29,
2019, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the
mission and concerns of their proposed paper.
Authors will be notified by August 31, 2019, about the status of their
proposals and sent reviewers’ feedback. Then, accepted proposals’ authors
have to submit their full papers on or before Sep 1. Authors will be
notified again about their full papers and sent reviewers’ feedbacks until
Sep 29, 2019, and announced final papers notifications on October 13, 2019.
Finally, these authors must submit their final book chapters on November
10, 2019. Authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at
http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributorresources/ before-you-write/
prior to submission.
Papers will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may
also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted
to this book publication, Recent Developments in Individual and
Organizational Adoption of ICTs. All manuscripts are accepted based on a
double-blind peer review editorial process. All proposals should be
submitted through the online submission manager at IGI publishing.
