Augusta University in Georgia has embarked on an ambitious, multi-year effort to substantially increase its research momentum in computing disciplines. Augusta University is a comprehensive research university, and its School of Computer and Cyber Sciences, established in 2017, is aiming to significantly increase its faculty in Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Data Science. Applications are being invited for multiple tenure-track/tenured positions at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels. Applications are invited for primarily research but also for teaching-focused faculty positions. Salaries are competitive.

The School of Computer and Cyber Sciences has grown dramatically in recent years, poised to become a comprehensive research college with national prominence. The school is steadily increasing its research momentum with more than 5 million dollars of new research funding from NSF, DOD, NSA, and ONR, and over 3 million dollars in educational funding from NSF and DOD within the past 18 months. The School offers B.S. degrees in information technology, cybersecurity, cyber operations, computer science, and cybersecurity engineering. At the graduate level, we offer M.S degrees in Information Security Management and Computer Science. Our newest graduate program, a Ph.D. in Computer and Cyber Sciences has officially begun Fall 2021. Our enrollment is at an all-time high with 700 students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees.
The Augusta, Georgia area is becoming a primary hub for cybersecurity in the United States, and the area is poised for explosive development. It is located at the center of several academic, governmental, and corporate partnerships critical to the nation's cybersecurity, including the U.S. Army Cyber Command and Cyber Center of Excellence, the National Security Agency Georgia, and the nearby Savannah River National Laboratory. The State of Georgia invested $100M in the Georgia Cyber Center at Augusta University, a 325,000-square-foot research and education facility which opened in 2018 and is home to the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences.

Applicants must hold a PhD or DBA in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline at the time of appointment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the potential for sustained research excellence as well as a commitment to quality in undergraduate and graduate education.
