    The Telfer School of Management of the University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Business Technology Management (French) at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor commencing on July 1st, 2023, or earlier.
    Title of Position: Professor in Business Technology Management

    Terms: Tenure-track position.

    Duties:
    a)    Teaching activities: The candidate will be interested in, and able to teach courses related to Information Systems, such as Business Technology Management, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Information Security, and Digital Transformation at the undergraduate, professional, and graduate (MSc and/or PhD) levels and engage in supervision of graduate students. Experience collaborating with industry and government organizations, curriculum development and program delivery in these areas as well as student mentorship, are considered strong assets.
    b)       Research activities: The ideal candidate will have a strong background, knowledge, and evidence of research productivity in Information Systems and/or related fields. The candidate demonstrates potential to:
    i.    Conduct high quality research and develop a strong, innovative, externally funded research program in Information Systems and/or related fields.
    ii.    Publish in top tier IS journals and top IS conferences; and
    iii.    Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
    c)         Academic service activities: The candidate will be an active member of the Business Analytics and Information Systems (BAIS) section. Administrative duties will be agreed with the section and the Dean.
   

 Preferences:
    Our Information Systems professors at the Telfer School of Management are involved in a variety of core programs and research areas. In terms of programs, these include BCom concentrations in Business Technology Management (BTM), professional programs such as Telfer’s MBA and EMBA, Telfer’s MSc and PhD programs, and in interdisciplinary graduate programs such as Digital Transformation & Innovation (DTI). Information Systems professors’ research programs align with several areas of expertise including Business Analytics and Performance, Digital Economy & E-business and Health Systems Management. We are seeking candidates that either complement or align with these areas, in line with the University of Ottawa’s Strategic Area of Research “Shaping the Digital World”.
    The candidate will be expected to contribute towards the section’s initiatives, such as becoming a full member of the SAP Academic Alliance and securing accreditation for our BTM program with CIPS (Canada’s Association of Information Technology Professionals).
    Requirements:
    •    Education: The candidate should have completed or expected to complete a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems or related disciplines.
    •    Language: The ability to teach in French is a requirement for this position. The ability to teach and the ability to participate in teaching, scholarly and service activities in both official languages are considered assets. Passive knowledge of the other official language of Canada is a requirement for tenure.
  

  •    Work experience:
      *   A high-potential research program as demonstrated by articles published in high quality and high impact peer-reviewed journals in the area of Information Systems or related disciplines. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a track record or potential in attracting competitive research funding and active engagement in the academic community.
     *   Evidence of teaching competency at the undergraduate, professional, and graduate levels as demonstrated by past teaching record and evaluations.

    Salaries are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
