The Bright Internet Global Summit (BIGS) 2022 will take place as a virtual workshop on December 7-8, 2022 in the Central European time (CET) zone of Copenhagen, Denmark. The workshop is organized with two separate tracks: Academic and Practice. Sessions in Academic Track (Dec 7, CET) are directed toward academia and will feature presentation of original research, whereas sessions in Practice Track (Dec 8, CET) will consist of practical panels and discussions by industry experts and policymakers. Both AIS and non-AIS members are welcome to all sessions.

This call for papers is for the Academic Track of BIGS 2022. We invite original research articles addressing technical, managerial, economic, and policy solutions and implications towards sustainable cyber environments, building upon the Internet that is more sustainable, secure, and trustworthy-what we coin the Bright Internet. Papers that focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG), smart cities, and sustainable development goals (SDGs) with an emphasis on the Internet and/or cyber environments are particularly encouraged. Applications of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cloud computing for preventive cybersecurity measures and sustainable cyber environments are also preferred. Papers may employ any applicable IS research method (case study, survey, analytical modeling, experiments, computational models, design science, and so forth). The theme of Practice Track in BIGS2022 is "Sustaibale CyberEnvironment" that will be organized together with Society of Information Management, UN Global Compact and World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO). This track will provide an interactive forum by bringing together leading academics, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss the critical issues of today's cyber environments toward the sustainable business models with Bright Origin Certifications to realize the next generation of the Internet.

Notification of Acceptance: November 1, 2022
Revised, Camera ready Document: November 13, 2022
Workshop Date: December 7, 2022

Submission Guidelines
All submitted papers undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Please submit your work using our submission system at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=bigs2022. All submission should be blinded and follow the workshop template in Microsoft Word that can be found on the submission website, with no author names or other identification in the manuscript file, including removal of document properties and tracked changes. Completed research papers should not exceed 15 pages.

Research-in-progress papers should not exceed 8 pages. Extended abstracts (2-3 pages) are also welcome. Accepted papers will be presented virtually via Zoom on Dec. 7th (CET) during the Academic Track of BIGS 2022. Detailed guidelines will be provided later.
