Job opening for Clinical Assistant Professor in Business Analytics/MIS at
UNC Charlotte - Fall 2023

The Department of Business Information Systems and Operations Management
(BISOM), one of six departments in the Belk College of Business at the
University of North Carolina at Charlotte, invites applications for a
full-time position as a Clinical Assistant Professor, beginning in the Fall
2023 semester. Individuals selected for this position will be expected to
possess a Ph.D. or Doctorate degree in Business Analytics (BA) or
Management Information Systems (MIS) or a closely related field from an
appropriately accredited program and must meet professional and/or academic
qualifications as defined in the Belk College Policy on Academic &

The Department is particularly interested in candidates whose academic
background and professional qualifications span Business Analytics and MIS.
Candidates must have a good understanding of the business analytics and use
of information systems.  Further, background in programming languages such
as R and Python will be considered a plus.  Prior teaching experience in
one or more of these areas is preferred. Other desired requirements include
an ability to contribute to diversity initiatives of the department,
college, and university. Candidates for this position must hold either a
Ph.D. or Doctorate in Business Analytics, MIS or a closely related field
from an accredited program and must meet professional and/or academic
qualifications as defined in the Belk College Policy on Academic &
Professional Qualifications.

The teaching load is an equivalent of four Business Analytics and/or
Management Information Systems (MIS) courses per semester and will include
courses in the interdisciplinary Masters in Data Science and Business
Analytics as well as the undergraduate and graduate courses within the Belk
College of Business. In addition to teaching, the candidate will be
expected to engage in research and professional activities appropriate for
the rank and to the extent required to meet the College’s Faculty
Qualification Standards for Clinical faculty. The candidate will also be
expected to engage in appropriate service activities in the Department, the
College and the University.

This is a non-tenure track position with an initial three-year contract.
The salary is competitive. Subsequent contracts will depend on performance,
departmental needs, and the College’s budgetary situation. The University
