2023 SIGBIT Workshop on Web3 Technologies and Ecosystems
December 9, 2023, Hyderabad, India
http://2023.sigbit.org/
(in conjunction with the 2023 International Conference on Information
Systems)
Blockchain technology is flourishing across a wide range of academic and
business endeavors in domains such as banking, insurance, manufacturing,
supply chain management, education, healthcare, and government operations,
among others. Emerging as a decentralized digital ecosystem rooted in
blockchain, Web3 has garnered significant attention in recent years. It
embodies a slew of blockchain-based technologies and applications such as
Decentralized Finance (DeFi), Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), Decentralized
Autonomous Organizations (DAOs), and the Metaverse. Advocates posit
that Web3 can be a viable solution to the excessive centralization of data
and content in the Web 2.0 era, while skeptics have expressed concerns
about the potential regulatory hurdles and data ownership problems inherent
to a decentralized web paradigm.
The aim of this workshop is to provide a forum for scholars to exchange
research insights and findings on Web3 technologies and ecosystems. We
invite pioneering researchers and thought leaders to contribute their
empirical and theoretical works, thereby enriching the understanding of
Web3 and fostering a collaborative academic milieu.
We welcome submissions on a wide range of topics, inclusive but not limited
to:
Decentralized Finance (DiFi)
Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)
Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs)
Metaverse analysis and design paradigms across various business sectors
Security and privacy issues for Web3 platforms
Regulatory and legal issues for Web3 platforms
Design and implementation issues of Web3 platforms
Blockchain integrations in metaverse platforms
Data management issues on blockchains
Process management on blockchains
Transaction mechanisms in cryptocurrency realms
