*Introduction*
The ever-growing influence of Internet in current 21st century everyday life
has implied a paradigm shift in terms of relationships between customers and
companies. New interaction means in Web 1.0 have undergone a
dramatic change in quantity and quality with the advent of the so-called Web
2.0, the Social Web. The upcoming Web 3.0, the Semantic Web, will also
impact tremendously in how companies understand Customer Relationship
Management (CRM).
Emerging killer applications combine sharing information, social dimension,
undermining the very principles where content have relied for decades,
namely information asymmetry and top-down content delivery. In this changing
environment, companies are also changing the way in which they communicate
with their customers. Thus, the traditional paradigm of Customer
Relationship Management (CRM) has also been changed with the emergence of
new forms of interaction: Internet based interaction.
*Objective of the Book*
The mission of the book is to provide broad research and applied coverage of
subjects relating to all areas of electronic customer relationship
management and its interactions with social Web. Providing a forum for the
exchange of research ideas and practices, this book is a reference
convergence point for professionals, managers, and researchers in the CRM
field together with IT professionals. It also aims to explore the
opportunities and challenges confronting organizations in the light of
customers in Web 2.0 by using new technologies, including semantic
technologies (Web 3.0).
*Target Audience*
The target audience of this book will be composed of professionals and
researchers working in the field of Web 2.0, Semantic Web, and customer
relationship. Moreover, the book will provide insights and support
executives concerned with the management of customers by means of the
Internet. The book is also aimed towards an academic audience (teachers,
researchers, and students, mainly of post-graduate studies).

*Submission Procedure*
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before March 15,
2010, a 2-3 page chapter proposal clearly explaining the mission and
concerns of his or her proposed chapter, including a summary, preliminary
table of contents, and the main contribution. This proposal should be sent
in Word format to cliensconexus at gmail.com. Authors of accepted proposals
will be notified by April 1, 2010 about the status of their proposals and
sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by July
15, 2010. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review
process. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this
project.
*Publisher*
This book is scheduled to be published by IGI Global (formerly Idea Group
Inc.), publisher of the “Information Science Reference” (formerly Idea Group
Reference), “Medical Information Science Reference,” “Business Science
Reference,” and “Engineering Science Reference” imprints. For additional
