Research Position in the Economics of Information Systems/Informatics
Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management
The Owen School of Management at Vanderbilt University, invites applications for a research position in the Economics of Health Information Systems. The 2-year position (with the possibility of renewal) will examine the organizational and economic aspects HIT and related information security issues. This interdisciplinary project will consider the economic incentives of individuals and health organizations to improve information governance, information access, and avoid breaches. The objective is to develop economic models to examine governance policies and user incentives. The candidate will be housed at the Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management but will work on an interdisciplinary, transinstitutional team spanning computer science, psychology, sociology, economics, and business as part of a multi-year, NSF-funded effort. Candidates must have an Information Systems, Medical Informatics or related Business background, with an interest in healthcare. Educational backgrounds could come from several areas including a PhD in:
· Business (Management Information Systems/Technology)
· Medical Informatics
· Information Science
Our preference is for candidates who have recently completed their PhD (post-doc). Candidates with more experience who have direct interest in this research area are also welcome. We are interested in candidates who will produce research of excellent quality that will have high impact on the field. The successful candidate could start in spring/summer 2014. Salary commensurate with degree and experience including an excellent benefits package.
The Owen Graduate School of Management is dedicated exclusively to graduate management education. It has an enrollment of over 500 full-time students in its full-time MBA, Health Care MBA, Executive MBA (EMBA), Americas MBA for executives (AMBA), Master of Science in Finance (MSF), Masters of Accountancy (MAcc), MAcc Valuation, and Masters of Management in Health Care programs. The school's 45 full-time faculty members are actively engaged in research. Owen enrolls students from all parts of the U.S. and 35 countries.
