[AISWorld] In memory of Sandy Slaughter

Dear colleagues,

As many of you know, Sandra Slaughter, Alton M. Costley Chair and Professor of Information Technology Management at the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business, died suddenly this Monday, November 3.

In addition to groundbreaking research and outstanding teaching, Sandy is remembered for her generosity with her time, talent, and resources. We are shocked and devastated by this loss.

A number of initiatives are planned or are in the planning stages to honor Sandy. A remembrance website has been created for her at www.forevermissed.com/sandra-slaughter<http://www.forevermissed.com/sandra-slaughter>. Further, at INFORMS CIST this coming weekend (November 8-9), there will be a special session honoring Sandy's memory at 5:15PM (Golden Gate 2) in the Hilton Hotel. Other opportunities for the community to remember Sandy are in the planning stages.

The family is requesting donations to the Atlanta Humane Society (in lieu of flowers) in honor of Sandy. The address is listed below.

Sandy published more than 100 articles in leading journals, conference proceedings, and edited books. This year marks the publishing of her new book on the software industry, A Profile of the Software Industry: Emergence, Ascendance, Risks, and Rewards.
