Dear colleagues,
We are looking for a great new colleague to join us in Boulder, CO -- perennially ranked one of the best cities to live in in the US.
The division of Management and Entrepreneurship (http://www.colorado.edu/leeds/management-entrepreneurship) situated within the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder seeks an instructor or senior instructor whose teaching demonstrates an in-depth understanding of business analytics, data management technologies, statistics, and methods. Candidates with experience in business analytics technologies and languages (e.g. SQL, R, Python, Hadoop) are preferred. The successful candidate is expected to teach courses such as: Business Analytics, Business Data Management, Business Technologies (e.g. ERP, SAP), and Accounting Information Systems.
We seek candidates who: are adept at technology, but are more than technologists; who understand the industrial reality of technology, but whose practice expands beyond it; who view technology as a tool in their teaching, but seek out unorthodox and unique approaches. In short, candidates who think creatively, critically and conceptually about technological practices are encouraged to apply.
Full-time Instructor (non-tenure-track) beginning August 2016. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and based on the University of Colorado pay scale.
Successful candidates will engage students and faculty from diverse disciplines and actively participate in curriculum development and other programmatic initiatives that encourage curiosity and creativity within learning. The Leeds School of Business' curriculum model is based upon small courses that integrate hands-on project-based learning. Job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and master's level courses, engaging in service activities within the school, and advising students. Students come from a diverse set of fields with a wide range of skill-sets and backgrounds.
Qualifications
A PhD degree in information systems, information science, or other related disciplines is required. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of teaching excellence preferably at the undergraduate or master's student level. Industry and/or government experience is a plus.
