The College of Business at Iowa State University (ISU) is currently
accepting applications for a tenured faculty member to fill a newly created
administrative position as the Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives,
Assessment, and International Programs. The primary academic
responsibilities of this position include: the planning and implementation
of strategic initiatives for the College as determined by the Dean; the
continued implementation, development, and improvement of the College’s
assessment of learning programs and course evaluation systems; overseeing
and expanding the college’s international study tours and study abroad
programs; coordination and management of distance education and outreach
programs; overseeing the college’s information technology efforts; and
managing the college’s facilities, including overseeing the utilization of
classroom and office space.

The successful candidates should possess knowledge of business education
with a vision as to its future direction; be able to represent the College
in a positive manner to external constituencies such as other academic
units on campus, the business community, and the general public; show
commitment to the university’s efforts to enhance student-based learning
and assessment of learning; and provide additional commitment to
affirmative action/equal opportunity programs in all aspects of the
College’s activities.

The Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives and Assessment of Learning
serves at the pleasure of the Dean.

The College of Business at ISU, established in 1984, conducts and shares
research to educate tomorrow’s business leaders so they are prepared to
deal with multi-disciplinary, global, technological, ethical and diversity
challenges. The college offers undergraduate, graduate and PhD programs and
is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business
(AACSB International). Less than five percent of business schools worldwide

Required Qualifications: PhD in a Business Related field (Accounting,
Finance, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Management
Information Systems, or a related field); Tenured Associate or Full
Professor at current institution; Exemplary record of scholarly research,
teaching, and service commensurate with the rank of Associate or Full
Professor in the College of Business at ISU; Applicants for Professor must
have, in addition to the above, a strong national and international
scholarly reputation.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with
faculty, staff, students, and administration; Experience and evidence of a
strong commitment to the administration, coordination, development, and
promotion of assessment of learning programs; previous involvement with
overseeing international study tours, study abroad programs, or distance
education and outreach programs
