*Track Title:*

Societal & Cultural Issues

*Track Chair:*

Dr. Hajer Kefi

*Track Aim*

Information and Communication Technologies are an integral part of our
personal, professional and social life. They are affecting our way to
learn, communicate, work and interact with each other. We can now witness
the emergence of new online behaviors giving birth to new cultural groups
and communities and also new use practices that are affecting how people
buy commodities, meet other people and socialize, express their opinions
and claim their differences. While many of these phenomena present
undeniable beneficial outcomes, in terms of social capital enhancement and
knowledge dissemination for example, some negatives effects have also to be
pointed out, such as technostress and information overload, lack of
privacy, addiction to Internet and social media related behaviors,
cyberbullying and malicious activities. The aim of this track to bring
together researchers from different fields to think about these issues and
provide theoretical insights and methodological tools to address them.

*Track Topics*

The track welcomes papers that cover the following topics (non exhaustive
list):

· Effects of culture on IT adoption and use. Culture refers here to
at least 4 meanings: national cultures, corporate culture, cultural
heritage institutions and industries and IT culture.

· Adoption and use of social media by cross-national virtual teams

· Hacker culture: emergence and impacts

· IT Ethics, norms and legislations across cultures

· IT values and generational effects (Generation Z vs Millennials,
vs Generation X vs Baby boomers)

· Social Media and online communities dynamics
