[AISWorld] Tenure-Track Position at the University of Georgia - Senior Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor

The Department of Management Information Systems in the Terry College of Business at The University of Georgia invites applications for a full-time tenure-track or tenured faculty position as a senior assistant, associate, or full professor level to conduct research and teaching in MIS. The position will begin fall semester 2020, with an anticipated employment start date of August 1, 2020.


Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in information systems or a closely related discipline from an AACSB accredited institution or international equivalent. For information regarding the requirements for each faculty rank, please see the University of Georgia Guidelines for Appointment, Promotion & Tenure (provost.uga.edu/faculty-affairs/promotion-tenure/).<https://provost.uga.edu/faculty-affairs/promotion-tenure/).> A research record commensurate with rank and at least three years of demonstrated excellence in teaching information systems at the graduate and/or undergraduate level also are required. To be eligible for tenure on appointment, candidates must be appointed as an associate or full professor, have been tenured at a prior institution, and bring a demonstrably national reputation to the institution. Candidates must be approved for tenure upon appointment before hire.

The Management Information Systems Department offers the following degrees: Ph.D., Master of Business & Technology, a BBA in MIS, and a Certificate in FinTech. In addition, the Terry College of Business offers an on-campus MBA degree, an on-campus Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA), and off-campus Executive/Professional MBA degrees.

The Management Information Systems Department is consistently ranked very highly nationally and internationally for both its programs and its scholarly productivity. On the research front, the UT Dallas ranking of research productivity ranks the University of Georgia 11th in North America for overall research in MIS Quarterly and Information Systems Research in the past five years. Faculty hold editorial positions at the premier information systems journals, and current and emeritus faculty include multiple AIS Fellows and an AIS Leo Award winner.
