Drake University’s College of Business and Public Administration invites applications for a full-time consecutive-term (non-tenure-track) position as an Assistant Professor of Practice in Information Systems. Essential functions include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and advancing the profession through outreach and service. The successful candidate will be expected to teach information systems courses including topics such as information systems development and information technology management. Preference will be given to candidates with information technology work or consulting experience. Appointment becomes effective August 2022.
Applicants are expected to have a master’s degree in information systems, technology, or business and must be able to provide evidence of teaching effectiveness. Preference will be given to candidates with exceptional undergraduate and graduate teaching performance and relevant and significant business experience.
The College of Business and Public Administration at Drake University serves over 1,100 undergraduate students and over 300 graduate students with 48 fulltime faculty members. The college has strong ties with the local community and close to 90% of students have at least one internship experience during their program. The department of Information Management and Business Analytics is a seven-member department with professors in Information Systems, Business Statistics, and Operations Management. The group oversees undergraduate degrees in Information Systems and Data Analytics as well as a graduate Masters of Science in Business Analytics.
