*Clinical Assistant Professor*

The Department of Business Information Systems and Operations Management,
one of six departments in the Belk College of Business at the University of
North Carolina at Charlotte, invites applications for a full-time position
as a Clinical Assistant Professor, beginning in the Fall 2022 semester. To
be initially appointed to a position as a Clinical Assistant
Professor/Clinical Associate Professor, a candidate must present evidence
of success in business, professional and academic practice, potential for
or evidence of past effective teaching, and potential for a successful
academic career. Individuals selected for this position will be expected to
possess a Ph.D. or Doctorate degree in Management Information Systems (MIS)
or Business Analytics (BA) or a closely related field from an appropriately
accredited program and must meet professional and/or academic
qualifications as defined in the Belk College Policy on Academic &
Professional Qualifications.

The Department is particularly interested in candidates whose academic
background and professional qualifications span MIS and Business Analytics.
Candidates must have a good understanding of the use of information
systems. Further background in business analytics will be considered a
plus. Prior teaching experience in MIS and/or BA is preferred. Other
desired requirements include an ability to contribute to diversity
initiatives of the department, college, and university.

The teaching load is an equivalent of four MIS/BA courses per semester and
will include courses in the interdisciplinary program in Data Science and
Business Analytics as well as traditional undergraduate and graduate
courses within the Business College. In addition to teaching,
responsibilities for this position include university service and
sufficient professional activities to maintain currency in the field. The
candidate will be expected to participate and contribute to departmental,
college, and University service activities.

This is a non-tenure track position with an initial three-year contract.
The salary is competitive. Subsequent contracts will depend on performance,
departmental needs, and the College’s budgetary situation. The University
of North Carolina at Charlotte is an affirmative action, equal opportunity
employer. Women, members of minority groups, and persons with disabilities
are encouraged to apply.

Only electronic applications submitted at
https://jobs.charlotte.edu/postings/38141 will be accepted. A curriculum
vitae is required along with an application letter. Finalists will be asked
to forward official transcripts, letters of reference, and other supportive
materials as requested by the Search Committee and the selected candidate
will be subject to a criminal background check. Applications will be
accepted until the position is filled.
