There are many inclusive oriented initiatives across all industries, and
they benefit institutions at many levels at any point of time, like
impressions and rankings .. I am involved in some of these projects, and I
find they retain their values when the true purpose is highlighted and
acknowledged. So, I find UNSW has done a sincere job by acknowledging why
this policy is pursued, signalling the importance and benefits of balance
for academic institutions. This way, balance is acknowledged as a valuable
asset for that institution & for that timeframe rather than signalling that
we want to help female professors.

> Industry has a particular responsibility to shape the transformation from
> our current economy into an ecologically and socially sustainable one.
> Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic demonstrates how unexpected events can
> disrupt entire global logistics chains in short time. The resulting demand
> for change, combining sustainability and resilience aspects, poses enormous
> challenges for industrial production. At the same time, the ongoing
> digitalization and networking of industrial value chains ? summarized as
> the
> fourth industrial revolution or Industry 4.0 ? offer new opportunities and
> capabilities to reach these objectives. We see sustainability as a driver
> of
> structural change: In parallel to our current digital transformation, we
> need a sustainability transformation of today?s value creation and
> production models into future-proof resilient approaches.
>
> The objective of this minitrack is to foster a discussion how new
> information & communication systems can foster sustainability and
> resilience
> in the next generation of production systems. Data-enriched views on
> processes and an increasing information capability (in real-time, complete,
> distributed) are the underlying principles of improving the efficiency of
> processes and avoiding waste over the complete life cycle of products and
> industrial assets. A main enabler in this regard is cross-company data
> spaces. They link classic ?data silos? even across company boundaries.
> Supported by a combination of optimization, simulation, artificial
> intelligence and machine learning, new insights can be created.
>
> In this minitrack, we aim to provide a forum for researchers and
> practitioners to discuss novel approaches in dealing with sustainability
> through resilient information systems and connected data spaces.
> Particularly, we invite submissions that discuss cross-organizational
> aspects of data sharing, e.g., to enable analyzing issues of sustainability
> and resilience across entire value chains. Areas of focus and interest of
> this minitrack include, but are not limited to:
>
> * Designing information systems for sustainable engineering,
> production, usage, and recycle/refurbish
> * Resource efficiency through digitally supported product life
> extension
> * Resilience and sustainability by design
> * Resilience in digital supply networks
> * Resilience and sustainability by design
> * Reactive hybrid intelligence for dealing with unexpected
> disruptions
> * Data sovereignty and data cooperation for sustainability
> * Lifetime synchronization of heterogeneous cyber-physical production
> systems
> * Sustainability through data-enriched supply chains
> * Process mining to enable sustainability-driven data analytics
> * Digital data-driven business models as enabler of sustainability in
> manufacturing
> * Sustainability impact of (platform-based) production ecosystems
> * Rebound effects managing the trade-off between sustainability gains

> Dear colleagues
>
> We would like to remind gently of our minitrack: Privacy, Trust and
> Governance in the Data-driven Economy at the 56th Hawaii International
> Conference on System Sciences (HICSS) January 3-6, 2023 Maui, Hawaii.
>
> Background to Minitrack
> The strategic role of data as an essential raw material for social and
> economic activities gives rise to new opportunities and challenges for
> organizing and innovating. Organizations are encouraged to transform and
> adopt data strategies that enhance their competitiveness. However, detailed
> insights and guidance remain scarce on how to approach this transformation
> and what the effects are on, e.g., privacy issues, stakeholder trust,
> business models, frameworks, public policy, and governance structures.
>
> Although data has become a strategic resource for many organizations, many
> large-scale data exchanges initiatives fail for a vast host of reasons. For
> example, datasets are increasingly exchanged among organizations, but the
> possible uses of the data are less predictable. Furthermore, in processing
> and extracting value from data, organizations confront a landscape of
> complex socio-political considerations when exchanging sensitive data. Such
> issues open new forms of governance, risks, privacy issues, business
> models, and information systems designs as organizations adapt to the data
> economy. Hence, potential topics that this minitrack will address are (but
> are not limited to):
> - How do the distinct characteristics of data re-shape
> our thinking of platform evolution?
> - What new types of privacy-enhancing business models
> emerge from the data-driven economy?
> - How can data platforms and novel launch strategies be
> used for data-driven business models?
> - How can data platforms ignite new forms of
> private-public partnerships?
> - How can data platforms be governed to promote privacy?
> - How can stakeholders in a data ecosystem trust
> reliability and authenticity of the datasets?
> - What new tensions emerge as organizations re-orient
> and transform to the data economy?
>
> We welcome both theoretical and empirical papers that advance our
> understanding of the new forms of organizing following the data economy. We
> call for papers that advance our understanding of the distinct nature of
> data and its impacts on privacy, business models, and governance of
> platforms through quantitative, qualitative, or mixed research approaches.

> The development of the Internet, social media, distributed databases, and
> a variety of mobile devices has caused a huge increase in data. Much of
> this diverse data in unstructured and structured forms has a high business
> value and, if properly utilized, can become an important organizational
> asset. It contains various information about customers, competition, labor
> market, and development trends for industries, products and services, as
> well as the public and political mood. For innovative, collaborative and
> sustainable development, it is essential for organizations to utilize this
> data to increase sales, identify future opportunities and new markets,
> outperform the competition, enhance products and services, recruit talent,
> improve operations, perform forecasting, protect the brand, and identify
> areas for improvement to name a few. However, many organizations make a
> limited use of this valuable data available to them either because they
> lack necessary tools or do not understand the value of this data. The main
> objective of this minitrack is to provide organizations a theoretical,
> conceptual, and applied grounded discussion of Business Intelligence (BI)
> to aid in innovative, collaborative, and sustainable development as well as
> effective decision-making. This minitrack addresses the following topics:
>
> * What is the substance (nature) of BI?
>
> * What is the added-value of BI to development of organizations and
> their decision-making process?
>
> * How to support organizational creativity, innovation,
> collaboration and decision-making using BI?
>
> * How to design intelligent information systems and build decision
> support systems based on BI?
>
> * How to enhance company level decision making process to integrate
> external stakeholders in order to develop collaborations?
>
> * How to use BI tools and solutions to achieve innovative,
> collaborative and sustainable development of organizations in digital era?
>
> The minitrack invites papers focused on, but not limited to:
>
> * Theoretical foundations for BI development
>
> * BI to improve innovative, collaborative and sustainable development
> of organizations
> * Challenges and opportunities of applying BI for innovative,
> collaborative and sustainable development of organizations
> * Development of BI and big data analytics capability
> * BI driven strategies
> * BI-enabled business transformation
> * Business value of BI
> * BI engineering for business model innovation
> * Practical approaches, solutions, methods, and tools to foster
> innovative, collaborative, and sustainable development of organizations by
> using of BI
> * Cognitive technologies in organizations
> * Social networks
> * The evolution of BI through wide diffusion of digital technologies
> and digital platforms
> The discussion undertaken under this minitrack will accelerate the
> convergence process of various disciplines such as strategic management,
> computer science, database and data warehouse technologies, computational
> intelligence and soft computing, psychology, and social sciences. It seeks
> to revitalize scientific discussion and to establish closer cooperation
> with international research centers dealing with BI use in organizations.
> This minitrack will discuss how to improve innovative and collaborative
> development as well as decision-making in organizations by using BI, and
> ultimately the functioning of the entire socio-economic system.
