Two Faculty Positions in Information Systems at ESSEC Business School
The Department of Information Systems, Decision Sciences and
Statistics (IDS) at ESSEC Business School invites applications for two
full-time faculty positions in Information Systems at the Assistant,
Associate, or Full Professor levels starting September 2023. The
positions will be based in the campus near Paris, France.
ESSEC is a leading European business school with campuses in France,
Singapore, and Morocco. The school offers both graduate and

Management, Executive MBA, Specialized Masters, PhD, Global BBA). The
Master in Management program is ranked 6th in the world in the latest
2022 Financial Times ranking, and the school’s Executive Education is
consistently ranked among the top global programs. For more

In the latest research ranking of the Association for Information
Systems, ESSEC ranks 3rd in Europe/Africa/Middle East in the number of
publications in the six leading IS journals (“Basket of Six”) in the
period from 2017 to 2021. Faculty in the IS group (with 10 full-time
faculty) conduct research on a variety of topics, including:
• Digital business, innovation, and IS strategy
• Business impact of artificial intelligence and blockchain
• Processes of IS change
• IS design, implementation, and use
• Data governance and analytics
• IS theory and research methods
Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) in Information Systems or
a related area.
• Candidates for the Assistant Professor position should have some
record of publication in leading IS journals, or a promising pipeline
of papers targeted for publication in such journals.
• Candidates for the Associate Professor position should have an
established record of excellence in research and teaching.
• Candidates for the Full Professor position should be
internationally recognized scholars, who have significant achievements
in research and teaching, and have made substantial contributions to
the IS field.
The level of appointment (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) is open,
and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Following ESSEC’s wider strategy, we are particularly interested in
profiles with demonstrated expertise in the areas of digital
entrepreneurship or IS sustainability/responsibility. The IS group is
committed to increase the number of women in scientific positions.
Female candidates are therefore encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities of the positions include research in the candidate's
area of expertise and teaching courses on IS management, digital
transformation, digital business, or other contemporary topics. The
IDS department proposes a wide range of electives, and regularly
updates its course catalogue to reflect the evolutions of the field.
ESSEC's teaching and business languages are English and French. Prior
knowledge of French is not required and the school provides French
courses to non-French speaking faculty. There is no requirement for
international faculty to teach in French.
Applicants should submit their application via the following link:
