The Department of Computer Information Systems in the Walker College of
Business at Appalachian State University invites applications for
tenure-track faculty at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level to
begin in Fall 2023. The successful candidate will be committed to
excellence in teaching, research, and service in an institution dedicated
to undergraduate and graduate education. The Walker College of Business is
committed to ensuring that its graduates are equipped to succeed in an
increasingly innovative, multicultural, and interdependent world.
Qualifications required are a Ph.D. in Information Systems (IS) or a
terminal degree such as DBA or DSc in a closely related field from an AACSB
accredited institution by the employment start date. The applicant’s
academic concentration, research programs, or professional experience
should be in areas directly related to IS, cybersecurity, business
analytics, and/or project management. Applicants must be able to
demonstrate teaching excellence at the collegiate level along with a strong
commitment to high-quality research in the field. Relevant teaching
experience at the university level, a record of publications in
peer-reviewed journals, and/or certifications in the field of IS,
cybersecurity, business analytics, and/or project management is expected.
The successful candidate should have the ability to teach at both the
graduate and undergraduate levels.
