Middle Georgia State University (MGA) is seeking a candidate for the position of Assistant Professor of Information Technology (10-month tenure track) in the Department of Information Technology. This position involves teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching responsibilities will be at the undergraduate and graduate level (Master's and Doctoral) programs.  Applicants should be able to teach a variety of IT/CS core and elective courses offered by the department (https://www.mga.edu/computing/information-technology/programs.php). Experience in software development and human-computer interaction is desired. Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening courses. Travel between campuses (Cochran, Dublin, Macon, and Warner Robins) will be required.  Online teaching experience is also required. In addition to teaching, job requirements include service to the institution; and active research and scholarly activities leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Middle Georgia State University was formed through the consolidation of Macon State College and Middle Georgia College in 2012.  Serving over 8,000 students, the University encompasses all five campuses of the prior two institutions with campuses in Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, Macon, and Warner Robins.  Annual tuition and fees make it the most affordable public university in the state of Georgia.  MGA is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.  Middle Georgia State's Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program is accredited by ABET.  MGA is also designed as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CDE) by the National Security Agency.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a doctorate  (Ph.D.) or equivalent in IT, Computer Science, or management-related disciplines as well as a reasonable record of teaching and scholarship that warrants appointment at the rank of assistant professor.
