Dear Colleagues,
We are delighted to announce the Call for Papers for the MIS Quarterly Special Issue titled “Artificial Intelligence-Information Assurance Nexus: Shaping the Future of Information Systems Security, Privacy, and Quality.”
As Generative AI (GenAI) evolves at an unprecedented pace, it introduces transformative possibilities alongside intricate challenges in the realm of information assurance (IA). This special issue aims to explore the strategic intersection of GenAI and IA, focusing on the critical implications for information systems security, privacy, and data quality.
We invite submissions that examine not only the technical dimensions but also the strategic and policy-oriented impacts of GenAI on IA. This includes how GenAI can be leveraged to strengthen defenses, improve data integrity, and enhance system reliability, while also addressing the risks it poses—such as heightened vulnerabilities to cyberattacks, the spread of misinformation, and intellectual property disputes. Furthermore, we are keen to explore how IA imperatives, including model hardening, regulatory compliance, and ethical considerations, shape the development, deployment, and governance of GenAI.
Contributions that address the evolving strategic landscape of GenAI and IA are especially encouraged, particularly those that offer innovative frameworks, theories, or methodologies. We are seeking research that pushes beyond traditional approaches, advancing new paradigms that can guide policy, influence organizational strategy, and help future-proof information systems in this rapidly changing environment.
