MIS Quarterly (MISQ) will hold its annual Reviewer Development workshop in January 2025. The objective of the workshop is to coach participants who have reviewed, or are interested in reviewing, for MISQ on how to develop a virtuous review. The workshop is designed to provide participants in the workshop with: (i) feedback from MISQ Senior Editors and Associate Editors on a review that the participants develop for the workshop, as well as; (ii) the opportunity to discuss with editors and other participants on how to develop a virtuous review.
The workshop will be offered in an online-only mode. There will be two time slots to accommodate time differences. Calendar invitations with Zoom links will be sent to participants a week before the workshop.
* Better suited to Oceania, Asia, and North and South America: Saturday, January 25, 2025, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM (Australian Eastern Summer Time) / 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM (China Standard Time) / Friday, January 24, 2025, 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM (US Eastern Standard Time).
* Better suited to Asia, Europe, and the US East: Sunday, January 26, 2025, 9:00 PM - 1:00 AM (China Standard Time) / 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM (Central European Time) / 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (US Eastern Standard Time).
Each of the workshop time slots has a limited capacity of 30 participants. The workshop will include:
1. Roundtable discussions with MISQ editors, providing feedback on participants' submitted reviews.
2. Roundtable discussions on actual review packets from the MISQ review process.
3. Editors' panel on virtuous reviewing, structuring reviews, and reviewing revisions.

* December 1, 2024: Application submission deadline
* December 12, 2024: Notification of acceptance to the workshop
* December 19, 2024: Distribution of manuscripts to be reviewed
* January 14, 2025: Reviews due
* January 24/25/26, 2025: Reviewer development workshop
Workshop Objectives and Design
Participants will be assigned (based on their stated interests and expertise) to review the initial version of a paper submitted to MISQ whose review process has concluded. Participants will be expected to submit their review prior to the workshop. Please note that you should only nominate for the workshop time slot if you are willing and able to dedicate the time required to produce a detailed review of the manuscript before the workshop.
