AMCIS 2015 DSR Mini-track:  Learning through Building:  Applications and Theory in Design Science Research

The speed of digitization in organizations and society as a whole has been increasing.  Technical innovations seem to appear on a daily basis. This pace of changes introduces disruption in traditional ways of thinking and behaving.  This, in turn, opens up broad new vistas of challenges and opportunities as we seek to understand the implications and possibilities introduced by technological change.  Through the Design Science Research paradigm, investigators seek to build knowledge and new insights by building artifacts, a paradigm that is well-suited to addressing issues introduced by rapid technical advances. This minitrack aims to encourage research that provides insights into both theoretical and applied issues introduced by technology and technology induced change.


Potential Topics:

We invite submissions that describe work in different areas of design

science research, including, but not limited to, the following:


  *   Emerging Methods and Tools in Design Science Research

  *   Embedded Systems, Ubiquitous Computing, Smart Objects and Environments

  *   Evaluation of Design Science Research

  *   Design Processes

  *   Principles of Design

  *   Modularity and Rules in Design

  *   Architectures for Design

  *   Science of Design and Design Theory

  *   Design Science and Cross-Disciplinary Research

  *   Design Applications in Healthcare

  *   Design of Manufacturing, Financial & Business Information Services

  *   Design for Environmental Sustainability, Energy Informatics, GreenIS and GreenBPM


Authors are invited to submit manuscripts of original unpublished work in all areas related to DSR. Submission guidelines, author instructions, and manuscript templates can be found at the AMCIS 2015 web site:  http://amcis2015.aisnet.org/submission-guidelines.

  *   January 5, 2015: Manuscript submissions for AMCIS 2015 begin

  *   February 25, 2015: AMCIS manuscript submission closes for authors
