POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Computer Information Systems program is part of CSU-Pueblo, Hasan School of Business. The school offers a BS in Computer Information Systems, a BSBA in Management with an IT emphasis and a joint BS-CIS/MBA 3 plus 2 program. The CIS program includes three main tracks: IT security, software development, and data analytics. The program is currently supported by five full-time faculty members and a number of part-time adjuncts. The mission of the Hasan School of business at Colorado State University-Pueblo is to provide quality undergraduate and graduate education for a diverse student population through our strong professional focus on contemporary business practices. Our educational programs prepare our students to assume team member and leadership roles in business by:
• Developing their skills in communication and critical thinking, and
• Instilling in them awareness of the global economy and ethical behavior
 
The intellectual pursuits of our faculty focus primarily on applied scholarship and instructional development. Our outreach activities-developed in partnership with the community – serve to enhance the quality of life and the economic well-being in southeastern Colorado.

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business accredits the Hasan School of Business. New tenure-track faculty members are assigned nine-hour teaching loads per semester and are expected to engage in on-going scholarly activities. The School enrolls over 900 students in its undergraduate programs (with the largest major in business management) and about 100 students in its MBA program. The MBA program is designed to meet the educational needs of working professionals in southeastern Colorado. The School is housed in a modern building and includes 26 full-time tenure/tenure-track faculty members.

This is a tenure track, nine month position (with summer teaching usually available) primarily in the area of computer networks and optionally in data analytics or cyber-security. Faculty have defined responsibilities in teaching, scholarship/research and service (university, academic/professional and community). Preference will be given to candidates that can teach one or more of the following courses:
•       Networking concepts
•       Systems network administration
•       Linux networks and routing
•       Unix operating systems 
•       Advanced database
•       Introduction to web programming
•       Internet server side programming
 
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
All responsibilities of faculty members at CSU-Pueblo are in accordance with the Faculty Handbook. The Faculty Handbook is the authoritative guide on specific requirements with regard to teaching assignments, scholarly activity, research, and service.

Primary Duties
•       Teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in accordance with program needs.  Prepares and presents course materials; administers appropriate tests; evaluates student outcomes; selects texts; prepares, administers and grades assignments; course labs and/or projects and assigns final grades. Participates in proposing curriculum changes and program modifications.
•       Engages in appropriate scholarly research activities to maintain currency in disciplinary fields. Established a research stream that generates scholarly outputs including conference presentations, refereed publications and other scholarly works.
•       Participates in service activities that include shared governance, professional service and community service.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
Minimum Qualifications
•       Doctorate or ABD in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline
•       Ability to teach one or more of the following courses: 
o       Networking Concepts
o       Systems Network Administration
o       Linux Networks and Routing
o       Unix Operating Systems
o       Advanced Database
o       Introduction to Web Programming
o       Internet Server Side Programming
Preferred Qualifications
•       Related certifications in Networking, Network Systems Administration or Linux
•       Successful post-secondary teaching experience in the information systems related field
•       2 years significant IT work experience
•       Evidence of scholarly activity and research leading to scholarly publication
•       Experience with and commitment to working with diverse student populations and commitment to equity in education at all levels
