Director, Executive Masters in Information Systems Program

The School of Business, Virginia Commonwealth University, seeks a director for its executive masters of information systems (EMSIS) program, full-time. This is a non-tenured, university academic professional (UAP) position.  As program director, s/he will be responsible for managing the program, including curriculum development, scheduling, staffing, assisting in recruiting, budget management, and promoting the program regionally and nationally. 

We seek a candidate with at least a master’s degree in information systems, information technology or a related discipline, or an MBA or equivalent degree; however a Phd is preferred. In addition, the candidate should possess at least five years of leadership experience in a technology environment, and/or significant experience in higher education. Candidates with prior teaching experience, particularly with mid-career students and/or distance education, and experience in program direction in a program subject to accreditation standards are desired. A commitment to providing a high quality educational experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated abilities in developing relationships and networks with the external business and industry community are additional desirable attributes. Applicants must have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
